? Don’t know what genus this new visitor is ?

I am still searching my Audubon field guide & Cornell’s website.

Any ideas?

  1. The tail markings sure match the American & Lesser Goldfinches! I haven’t planted sunflowers for a couple years & all the cold drizzle this fall must have paled it’s black cap & yellow feathers. Another of my mysteries of nature is solved however I am more confused now then I was before! πŸ€“ I also noticed it’s right talon is clubed 😦

  2. I’m fascinated at the way they often show up plain jane without their gold. I really love it when a small flock stops by for the day. That hasn’t happened in while. 😊 wonder what happened to his talon…

  3. farrow cats ? Washe Kat stays indoors. Maybe the poison the city puts out to kill the starling & grackle flocks which also kills the birds of prey which results in my ‘hawk pole’ remaining vacant.
